Back to Training
Promised myself that I'd do the Forest City Road Races 10km run this year. Having run a half marathon (granted that was a while back) I told myself this should be easy. Ha ha. Well, last time I did this particular race, my time was 1:02:55. This time I would like it to be under an hour. Just ran 10km in 59 minutes, so here's hoping. I think I will make my goal this year 58 minutes. That seems perfectly reasonable.
Things I do on March Break
It's been a pretty nice March Break all things considered. The weather has been unseasonably warm (for most of the week) here and I had an eventfully uneventful week.
It started off with a poorly attended performance of a dinner theatre show that's like a cross between Celebrity Rehab, The Office, and Dead Like Me. Great script, great cast, no audience. Oh well, we had fun. Here's a picture of Frank's "Death Day" cake for the show. Mangela (Our boss) decides to celebrate the anniversary of Frank's suicide by creating a cake that depicts him buried under a silo full of grain while his sheep (the marshmallows) look on in horror. (Yes, it's an odd show)

On Saturday, no one actually showed up. We literally had no audience. So we demolished the cake.

And hilarity ensued.

Apparently we will be remounting the show (after a well-thought out publicity plan) in May. It's at the Blackshire Pub. Come see it if you can. It's a great show. The premise is that we are all counselors in Heaven who work with suicides (our first case is Ernest Hemmingway) to help them see the error of their ways before they reincarnate.
These are heritage tomatoes that are sprouting. Got them from Terra Edibles. They'll be ready to go in the ground in about 6 weeks.
This is what it looks like when it's rising. You don't need this bread. You just mix it up at night and them bake it the next day at about the same time. I got the recipe from this site.

Tastes amazing and looks like something you'd pay good money for at fancy pants bakery.
I also inherited some furniture from my grandparents. I think it's funny that I'm an English teacher, and yet the thought of filling a bookshelf with books offends my aesthetic sensibilities.
And that's my March Break. No margaritas on a tropical beach, but it works for me.

After recovering from that, I had coffee with my friend Andrea and her son Noah.
Had some St.Patrick's day fun:

Made some rustic bread that my friend Mike thinks looks like a gremlin.
