Crappy Run

I went for my first run since having my wisdom teeth removed, and it wasn't very fun. I thought I'd take it easy and just do a 5k, but it felt more like the 14k I did the week before. Actually no. The 14k felt good even though I was tired. This felt crappy. My breathing was terrible, and I can't believe how aware I was of my mouth. It felt like my jaw was rattling around.

Yuck.

Also I was unbelievably slow. 6:02 pace. Ew.

Allergies or a cold my be a contributing factor. Still ... ew.

And to make matters worse, I saw Steve, a retired teacher and marathon runner, out on the trail and he always looks so darn happy when he runs. He gave me the runner's wave. He looks like he's just shuffling along but don't be fooled. That man is moving.

Oh well. The important thing is I got back out there.
